Survey Respondent Demographics
1Q survey respondents comprise over 1.1M active and diverse members that are representative of the US’ top demographic segments (based on the total population). Survey respondents are based throughout the United States. On average, 1Q has a minimum of approximately 1,000 active members in any US state (with the exception of WY). Many states have over 5,000 active members at any time. This broad representation in each state provides immense value for a range of research activities on
a national scale. The currently available number of respondents nationally or in a particular state is displayed in the upper right hand portion of the 1Q dashboard home screen. How Survey Respondents are Sourced & Compensated
1Q is proud to represent what we believe is the highest quality database of survey participants in the consumer research industry. We have organically grown our respondent pool over the last 6 years. All participants freely and willingly agree to participate in surveys. We never outsource survey participants to third parties. 1Q’s compensation model highly incentivizes survey respondents to maintain an active profile and quickly respond to Askvert questions. Every respondent is directly paid
$0.25 per question answered. 1Q does not use a credit-based earning system and respondents are compensated through PayPal, making it simple to receive payment at their convenience.
Data Quality Assurance
Survey Respondent Validation
1Q takes extra measures to fully vet each member of our respondent database and ensure that they meet our high standards, including collecting their full contact information with a verified US address. Additional respondent validation measures include processing the provided personal data through an anti-fraud database, verifying user’s real phone numbers, ensuring members don’t have duplicate accounts, and more.
Survey Respondent Data Collected
Survey participants are asked to provide basic information regarding their professional occupation, location of residence, income level and other aforementioned demographic data. When respondents join register with 1Q they are asked to provide the following demographic information:
- Age
- Marital Status
- Number of Children (and age/gender)
- Education Level
- Employment Status
- Industry
- Job Function
- Job Level
- Gender
- Race
- Household Income
- Home Ownership Status
- Political Affiliation
- Voter Registration
- Religion
- Home Address
- Current or past locations (if respondents have opted to allow for geo-targeting)
No participant will ever be solicited by 1Q for unnecessary private or personal data, including banking information or social security numbers.
1Q Data Protection Policy
1Q employs strict controls to protect and secure the data of all survey participants. We have not and will never sell our member’s data or provide it to any third party. Participant data is used solely by 1Q for surveys on a proprietary platform and for research purposes made expressly clear to all members at the time of registration. 1Q clients can ask members for personally-identifying information (i.e. name, email address, etc.) but members are not obligated to provide their data unless they freely choose to do so. Members will still be compensated for answering the question even if personal information is omitted. Respondent location tracking is only conducted with express permission from individual survey participants.
System Capabilities
Importing and Exporting Data
1Q allows users to export any of the data used in or resulting from an Askvert, with the exception of personally identifiable information on survey respondents. There’s no limit to the amount of data that can be exported or the number of times an export can be requested from within the platform. Examples of common data exports include:
- Askvert questionnaire (Word file)
- Askvert results (.csv, .ppt)
- Askvert result pie charts (.png)
- Billing receipt with itemized costs (Word file)
Custom data imports for location targeting can be conducted with help from the 1Q customer support team. For additional information, see page 23.
Askvert Frequency and Scope
Askverts can be conducted with any desired frequency and at any time. There are also no maximum or minimum limits on the number of respondents required to respond to an Askvert. The 1Q platform is specifically designed to facilitate large-scale, real-time data collection from survey respondents.
Protecting Intellectual Property
Survey Participant Agreements
During their initial registration, each survey participant is required to acknowledge and adhere to a privacy agreement prohibiting them from disclosing any information in their Askvert questions. This information includes media files, screenshots, or the text of survey questions. This privacy measure protects sensitive proprietary information that might be used in specific questions.
Hiding sensitive or Proprietary Information
1Q allows users to select an option that automatically hides information included in an Askvert question once the participant’s response has been provided. This protective measure means that respondents will not be able to go back to a prior question once answered and see sensitive information within the application.
Technical Requirements
Browser Compatibility
1Q is a cloud-based platform that operates best on Chrome and Firefox browsers. Using other browsers may affect the overall user experience.
Internet Access
Reliable Internet access is required to use the 1Q platform as it will display, disseminate and receive respondent data in real time. The 1Q platform is not available in an offline version.
Security
All customers are required to set a username and password when an account is registered. We encourage all users to follow general best practices when choosing a password, including using a combination of letters (both uppercase and lowercase), numbers, and symbols. When logging into the platform, most users will be asked to complete a basic Google reCAPTCHA form for verification. The 1Q platform only provides an option for 2-factor authentication for account administrators. Passwords can be changed at any time from within the account management settings.
